These little earrings are made from two little pieces of real honeycomb, which I source from a local beekeeper on my Island home!
Each piece of honeycomb is carefully shaped by hand prior to being plated.
The honeycomb was suspended in a conductive solution for a period of 24+ hours while recycled copper was slowly deposited over the whole piece of honeycomb, rendering it as hard as a copper penny.
The copper was then electroplated in 14k gold, and polished to a soft shine.
Each piece is totally unique and unable to be replicated, just like the wearer!
The earrings are mounted onto surgical steel posts, which are left bare, but the backs of the studs are also plated in 14k gold.
